The information we’ve been able to receive from City of Bloomington regarding upcoming street resurfacing has been somewhat sketchy. We’re told construction will begin on Monday, May 19th and it is recommended that residents only park in driveways (not streets). Street parking will be allowed from 7 PM to 7 AM during construction. As we learn more, we will update this Alert post.
In addition to some work on sidewalks, we are told the process that will be used on streets is called ‘Mill and Overlay‘. It involves grinding off the top layer of surface and installing a new top layer of pavement. This extends the life cycle of the original pavement.
